Saluyot (Corchorus olitorius), is a member of the genus Corchorus, and classified under the subfamily Grewioideae of the family Malvaceae. It is an edible leafy vegetable that can be found in subtropical and tropical areas from Asia to Africa. These leaves are valued as food and for its strong fiber.

Saluyot leaves are very nutritious, and is rich in iron, calcium, vitamin A, C, E, protein, riboflavin, thiamin, folate, niacin, and dietary fibers.
