1. Beautiful Skin

Kiwis contain vitamin C which helps support the skin’s collagen. Vitamin C is an important nutrient that works in the body as an antioxidant to help prevent damage caused by pollution and the sun. It helps smooth wrinkles and improve overall skin texture.

2. Eye Health

Kiwi contains the phytochemical lutein. Lutein is a carotenoid vitamin that can help prevent age-related blindness. It can also protect the eyes from different kinds of free radical damage. Studies have shown that eating vitamin C-rich fruit such as kiwi may provide a significant effect against respiratory symptoms, associated with wheezing and asthma.

A study published in Thorax, showed over 18,000 children, whose ages range from 6-7 years, found that those consuming the most citrus and kiwifruit (at least 5-7 servings per week), had 44% less incidence of wheezing, as compared to children comsuming the least or less than once per week.

Severe wheezing was reduced by 41%, shortness of breath by 32%, runny nose by 28%, night time cough by 27% and chronic cough by 25%. Children who had asthma when the study began, were shown to benefit the most, and protective effects were most evident even among children who consumed fruit only once or twice per week.
