How to Minimize Your Pores Naturally:

1. Exfoliate

You can use a combination of both physical exfoliants, such as facial scrubs and chemical exfoliants, such as alcohol-free glycolic serums, on a regular basis. This will help in removing dry surface cells, so the openings of your pores are not as deep, which can make them look smaller, accroding to celebrity esthetician Renee Rouleau. As an added bonus, chemical exfoliants can get into the pores and help clean them out.

2. Ice

Ice can tighten your skin and shrink your pores. This ice remedy not only improves the appearance of your skin, but it also invigorates you.

How to:
1. Apply ice against your skin for 10-20 seconds.
2. You can wrap a few ice cubes in a clean cloth, then rub it against your skin. Do this at least a few times daily.

Notes:
You can wash your face using cold water. Do this at least twice daily, in the morning and evening, but remember not to over-wash. Excessive washing can irritate the skin.

3. Facial Steam

Facial steam baths is useful for removing dirt and oil from your pores. The heat from the steam opens your pores, while the water droplets can wash out all the debris.

How to:
1. Add steaming hot water to a bowl.
2. Add a few drops of essential oil like eucalyptus for an antibacterial effect.
3. Place your face over the bowl and cover with a towel.

5. Rinse your skin using warm water.

4. Stay Hydrated

You can stay hydrated by drinking lots of water. But, you can also use a hydrating serum before apllying a moisturizer. Moisturizer, helps shrink your pores by plumping up the surrounding skin, according to Dr. Craig Kraffert, president of Amarte and a dermatologist. Just make sure to exfoliate often so your hydrator can work and do its work.

5. Use Sunscreen

SPF is an important part of your skincare routine. The UV radiation breaks down elastin and collagen, thus expanding the pore. Therefore, the best way to prevent your pores from becoming enlarged is to protect yourself from the sun.

Note:
Some sunscreens can make your skin appear oilier and shinier, thus accentuating your pores. In that case, choose a matte finish primer, powder or foundation, to minimize that effect.
