Being healthy, fit and safe takes commitment. But it does not have to be time-consuming.

Most things are so easy and take so little time, that you will wonder why you have been avoiding doing them in the first place. Taking just a few minutes in your day is worth having a healthier life for you and your family. Below are some tips you can take to help in protecting your health and safety in just 10 minutes or less.

7 Ways To Be Healthier in 10 Minutes Or Less:

1. Bring a Water Bottle

Hydration is very important. When you are properly hydrated, your immune system, metabolism, and digestive system all work their best.

Bring a water bottle everywhere you go, at the gym, grocery store, to remind yourself to drink water. Carrying a water bottle also makes it easy to see how much you are drinking, making it possible to get the recommended 8 glasses a day.

2. Drink Tea

Studies of tea chemistry have reported that steeping tea for about 3 minutes increases the release of chemicals in tea that have antioxidant, polyphenols, and other beneficial properties. This may account for many of tea’s health benefits.

3. Take a Walk Outside

A breath of fresh air truly is the cure for anything. If you feel stressed out or you just need a minute to breathe, taking a walk outside will do the trick.

Walking gives you a chance to remove yourself from your environment, allows you to declutter your mind, gets your blood circulating, which will help lift the weight off your shoulders. Basking in the sun, or even just a little rain for even just a short period of time will rejuvenate you.

4. In 1 Minute – Laugh

Just a 1 minute laughter is what it takes to release stress-busting endorphins and to relax your muscles. If you make laughing a regular practice, you can look forward to a healthier blood flow, a more stable blood sugar, and even a longer life.

5. Take a Nap

Are you feeling sleepy? There’s no shame in going for little shut-eye during the day, most especially when you consider the benefits. Not only will you feel more alert and awake after a power short nap, research suggests that a siesta can improve your creativity, memory and productivity.

The best part of it all? Just a 10-minute power nap will do the trick. Too much more than that, and you might feel more sluggish when you wake up.

6. Listen to Music

Bring your headphones everywhere you go, so when you have a few minutes to spare, you can listen to some music and go off in your own world. This is the perfect way to unplug completely, because it’s just you and the music.

Listen to your favorite song or to a song with a slow melody. Music is very powerful, and hearing a song you like always puts you in a better mood, with a smile on your face.

7. Consume a Handful of Nuts

An analysis of data from more than 100,000 female and male health professionals, published in 2013 in The New England Journal of Medicine reported that those who regularly consume nuts were significantly less likely to die from heart disease, cancer, respiratory disease, or other causes during the course of the study period, as compared to those who ate no nuts.

Participants who consumed a serving of nuts or about 1 ounce, or 28 grams daily, had the greatest reduction in mortality, or 20% lower than non-nut eaters.
