1. Alcohol

Alcohol is loaded with calories. Since your 30+ body cannot burn them off, those extra calories feed the beer gut. Also, beer spikes insulin levels, which is very hard on you.

Alcohol might knock you out, but, you probably will not be able to stay asleep. You’ll weight gain carb, and also sugar cravings the next day.

2. Artificial Sweeteners

Artificial sugars confuse your body by not providing calories, and your bodies cannot regulate hunger.

Artificial sweeteners are linked with cancer. Its use may lead to elevated glucose levels and poor insulin response. These contribute to metabolic syndrome, fat storage, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.

3. Caffeine

Besides all the extra chemicals and sugars in your latte or cola, the biggest effect is from caffeine’s effect on sleep quality.

Too much caffeine can be aging because you don’t get your beauty rest. Also, just like alcohol, too much caffeine can lead to carb carvings. And for your information, sneaky carb carvings pack on the pounds.

4. Flavored Yogurt

If you want to eat fruits and yogurt, then you are better off buying them separately and mixing them in a bowl. Flavored yogurts are most often filled with added sugar.

You know about sugar and salt. Add in the chemical additives and you have a very unhealthy meal. Prepared meals generally contain less fiber, therefore, they wear off quickly. Also, they contain MSG to make the food taste good! It also increases your appetite.

7. Processed Meat

Processed meat is very high in saturated fats and sodium. Since we’ve already talked about fats, know that saturated fats are very hard on your wasit line and heart.

Support your thirty-year-old heart, and give up processed meat.

8. Soda

The high fructose corn syrup that is present in soda is the worst thing about it. According to Dr. Gioffre, author of GET OFF YOUR ACID and celebrity nutritionist, “It is the most dangerous because it goes directly to the liver, and it is stored as fat.”

Also, it creates resistance to leptin, which is a hormone that decreases appetite. This condition is the main driver of fat gain in people.

9. White Flour

Your 30-something body deserves so much better. White flour is on the list of foods to avoid.

Your body converts white flour into glucose. Glucose is easily stored as fat. White flour is refined of all the good stuff such as fiber. Whole grains are more slowly digested, and will therefore, help you stay full longer.

Whole grain and whole wheat breads can be an acquired taste, but it is an important one.
