10 Cancer Causing Foods You Are Probably Eating Every Day:

1. Canned Goods

Most cans are lined with a product known as bisphenol-A or BPA, which has been known to genetically alter the brain cells of rats. Many thermal paper, plastic goods, dental composites and water lines, also contain BPA.

You can protect your DNA by sticking to fresh or frozen vegetables that have no added ingredients.

2. Farmed Fish

Commercial fish farming involves raising numerous number of fish, like salmon, in a crowded environment. Almost 60% of the salmon consumed in the USA comes from a farming operation, where they are treated with pesticides, antibiotics and other carcinogenic chemicals to try and control the viral, bacterial and parasitic outbreaks that result from cramming so many fish in a small space. Farmed fish also do not contain as much omega-3 as wild salmon.

3. Genetically Modified Foods or GMOs

The fast growing industry of genetically modified crops are infiltrating our food supply market at an alarming rate. More than 90% of soy and corn are now genetically modified.

Experts have agreed that sufficient testing was not done before GMO foods were added to the ingredient listing of thousands of products. This means that, no one, including the manufacturers and growers of GMO foods, knows the long-term effect it will have on human health.

Always look for GMO-free labels whenever possible or buy organic, which means a product is not genetically modified.

4. Grilled Red Meat

Grilled foods taste delicious, but scientists have discovered that preparing meats thru this way, most especially processed meats such as hot dogs, releases a carcinogen called heterocyclic aromatic amines.

If you grill red meat to the point of well-done, it changes the molecular and chemical structure of the meat. It is better to broil, bake or prepare meat in a skillet than on the grill.

5. Microwave Popcorn

As per Wikipedia, conventional microwave popcorn bags contained a chemical called perfluorooctanoic acid or PFOA. This is a toxin you can also find in Teflon.

According to a current study at the University of California, PFOA is linked to infertility in women. Various studies in humans and lab animals, have shown that exposure to PFOA significantly increases the risk of bladder, kidney, pancreas, testicular and liver cancer.

What about its content? Although manufacturers used slightly different ingredients, most of them use soybean oil or a GMO product and various preservatives such as propyl gallate, a chemical which causes skin rashes and stomach problems. Even if GMO corn were not used, you can bet these manufacturers are not using organic corn.

6. Processed Meats

What are processed meats? This includes, but is not limited to, hot dogs, sausages, bacon and most lunch meats like bologna. These processed meats contain various preservatives and chemicals, including sodium nitrates, which make them, look fresh and appealing, but are well known carcinogens.

Researchers have written in the journal of BMC Medicine, that too much chemicals and salts, used in making processed meats are damaging to your health. The study showed that 1 in every 17 individuals, who were involved in the study died and those who consumed 160 grams or more of processed meats increased their risk of early death as much as 44% within 12 years, as opposed to those who ate just 20 grams or less. The study involved individuals from 10 European countries and went on for almost 13 years.

7. Carbonated Beverages and Soda

Sodas are filled with dyes, high-fructose corn syrup or HFCS and other chemicals, that are bad for your health. It provides zero nutritional value and will rob your body of the nutrients that you are getting from other foods.

Also, adding “diet” to the label means that you are likely consuming aspartame, which is no better than rat poison to human cells.

8. White Processed Flours

Refining grains destroys its natural nutrients. Mills are no longer waiting for the flour to whiten with time; they are now bleaching flour with a chemical called chlorine gas.

The EPA states that chlorine gas is a dangerous irritant and is not safe to inhale, also in large quantities it can be lethal. White flour are present in many processed foods.

White processed flour contains very high glycemic rate, which quickly raises the insulin level and blood sugar level. This can be a direct cause of diabetes is believed to help spread cancer cells by feeding the cells directly. Cancerous tumors feed mostly on the sugars present in your bloodstream.

Therefore, by avoiding refined grains such as white flour, you can at the very least, starve tumors.

9. Refined Sugars

Refined sugars are known to spike insulin levels and are known to be the most preferable food for cancer cells, thus promoting their growth. Cancers seem to have a sweet tooth. This is a known fact for many years.

Cancers and tumors both use sugars to feed themselves or to increase in size. In order to proliferate, cancer cells prefer feeding on fructose-rich sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup or HFCS. This is because HFCS is being metabolized by cancer cells most quickly.

Since pies, cakes, sodas, cookies, sauces, juices, cereals and other popular processed food items are loaded with refined sugars and HFCS in particular, this can help explain why cancer rates are on the rise.

10. Pickled, Salted and Smoked Foods

These products contain preservatives, like nitrates, which are intended to prolong shelf life. The additives used in these processed foods can accumulate in your body over time.

Eventually, such toxins cause some damage at the cellular level and lead to diseases such as cancer. When smoked foods are cooked at high temperatures, the nitrates are then converted to the much more dangerous nitrites. Pickled foods does not mean the fermented foods you canmake at home.
